New Faculty Orientation

Welcome to the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine.

In the fall of each year we conduct an orientation program specifically designed for College of Human Medicine faculty. This year's event is scheduled for October 15, 2021.

The College of Human Medicine's New Faculty Orientation Program was developed from a recommendation in the Faculty Excellence Task Force Final Report. The overall goal of this program is to supplement university and departmental activities in preparing new CHM faculty for their academic roles. Specifically, the goals of the New Faculty Orientation Program are:

  1. to get a brief introduction to the College of Human Medicine.
  2. to interact with College of Human Medicine and MSU Health Care leaders and resource people.
  3. to learn about expectations for retention, promotion and tenure for the range of CHM faculty appointment types.
  4. to become aware of college and university resources for faculty development and support.
  5. to discuss topics and issues of interest to participants.
