Congratulations to the Class of 2025 on a successful match!

This year, our rising Spartan MDs at eight MSU College of Human Medicine community campuses statewide (Detroit, Flint, Grand Rapids, Lansing, Midland, Southeast Michigan, Traverse City, Upper Peninsula Region) learned where they matched for residency this summer.

  • 99.5% of MSU College of Human Medicine’s seniors have secured residency placements. This includes students who participated in the NRMP Match, the NRMP Supplemental Offer and Acceptance Program (SOAP), and other residency placements, including the advanced matches and the Military Match.
  • 38.9% of the 2025 seniors are entering a primary care residency (i.e., Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Medicine/Pediatrics, and Pediatrics).
  • 59.1% of the seniors will remain in Michigan for their residency training in 2025.
  • The top five 2025 specialty placements in rank order by percentage are listed below:
    • Emergency Medicine – 15%
    • Internal Medicine – 15%
    • Family Medicine – 14.4%
    • Psychiatry – 9.4%
    • Surgery – 7.2%
