Class of 2025 Commencement Celebration
May 12, 2025
On May 10, the College of Human Medicine held its Commencement Ceremony at the Breslin Student Event Center. Dean Aron Sousa, MD, conferred degrees for 182 medical doctors, marking their next chapter in medicine. The Class of 2025 reunited after spending their third and fourth years of medical school in hospitals and clinics at the college’s statewide community campuses.
The milestone represents the graduates’ years of rigorous academic and clinical training and a commitment to serving others. As they crossed the stage, many celebrated the moment with their children while others were hooded by mentors, alums and physician family members.
The celebration included a keynote address from Elizbeth Hertel, MBA, director of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.
