Bio

Stuart Johnson, DO, is the community assistant dean for the Upper Peninsula Campus. 

Dr. Johnson completed his medical education from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed an osteopathic internship at Mercy General Health Partners in Muskegon, Mich. attending residency at the Marquette Family Medicine Residency Program in Marquette, Mich. Upon completion he developed and directed the program’s Osteopathic Program then served as the residency’s Program Director. He also completed the Fellowship in Primary Care Faculty Development, the National Institute of Program Directors Fellowship, and a Palliative Care Education and Practice Fellowship through Harvard Medical School.

Prior to his role as community assistant dean, he led residents on medical mission trips through the Friends of Haiti program and was involved with local community volunteer opportunities.

Johnson is also CEO of the Upper Peninsula Education Corporation, Medical Director at Lake Superior Life Care and Hospice and the Designated Institutional Official at UP Health System – Marquette.
