Bio

Mark Brieve is the Director for Community and Government Relations at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. His duties include developing positive relationships with business and community leaders, as well as, university officials in order to promote and encourage visibility for the college through coordinated events. Additionally, Mark provides analysis and research on state and federal legislation with potential impact to the College. His role includes frequent visits to the college’s community campuses in Detroit, Flint, Grand Rapids, Lansing, Marquette, Midland, Southeast Michigan and Traverse City.

Prior to joining MSU College of Human Medicine in August of 2012, Mark worked in the Michigan Legislature for nine years in both partisan and non-partisan roles. These positions included time with State Representative Jerry O. Kooiman (R-Grand Rapids) and State Senator Wayne Kuipers (R-Holland).

A graduate of Calvin College, Mark lives in Grand Rapids with his wife Emily and their two children.
