Emily Linnert
Bio
Emily serves as the senior public relations manager for Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. In this role, Emily is the first point of contact between the college and local, regional and national media. She identifies research, discoveries, faculty, student and alumni success and community involvement stories worthy of amplification.
Prior to joining the College of Human Medicine, Emily was a local news anchor and reporter for 25 years. She began her career at Lansing CBS affiliate WLNS and spent 18 years at West Michigan’s top-rated NBC affiliate WOOD TV. During her time in local news, she covered medical and health-focused stories including an Emmy-nominated report “Going Flat” which examined the choices made by two breast cancer survivors to forego breast reconstruction after mastectomy.
Emily is a member of the West Michigan Public Relations Society of America and the Association of American Medical Colleges. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Telecommunications from Michigan State University’s College of Communications Arts and Sciences.
