MSU College of Human Medicine and Corewell Health recruit leading expert Miriam Vos to study childhood liver disease

Miriam Vos headshotMichigan State University and Corewell Health announced the joint appointment of Miriam Vos, MD, MSPH. Vos joins the College of Human Medicine as professor and associate chair for translational research in the Department of Pediatrics and Human Development, and director of research at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids.

Vos is a nationally recognized leader in pediatric hepatology and translational research, with more than two decades of experience in pediatric liver disease and obesity. She brings her NIH-funded research program on Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatotic Liver Disease (MASLD) to MSU and Corewell Health, continuing her work to advance prevention and treatment strategies for this increasingly common condition in children.

As MSU and Corewell Health expand pediatric research in Grand Rapids, Vos will mentor junior physician scientists and new investigators in patient-oriented research in the field of early cardiometabolic disease. Additionally, Vos will launch a dedicated pediatric hepatology service to advance subspecialty care for children with complex liver conditions.

Her dual appointment reflects the shared commitment between Michigan State University College of Human Medicine and Corewell Health to integrate academic excellence, impactful research and clinical innovation to improve child health.
