In Memoriam: Alejandro (Alex) Pereida

Alejandro (Alex) Pereida, age 45, passed away October 7 after a valiant battle against an aggressive illness.

Alex began his career at Michigan State University in 2009 as the MSU Willed Body Program mortician and laboratory supervisor in the Division of Human Anatomy. A licensed mortician, Alex was an integral part of the MSU Willed Body Program. Alex served both the College of Human Medicine and College of Osteopathic Medicine at all human anatomy laboratory locations.   

“Alex provided thoughtful care of our donors in the MSU Willed Body Program,” said Sarah Garnaat, MSU director of anatomical resources. “He created a positive environment within the human anatomy laboratory for both students and faculty. We will miss him more than words can express.”

Alex received his mortuary science degree from Wayne State University and worked at MSU for 15 years.
