Bio
Toya is the Human Resources Director for the College of Human Medicine. She leads and directs a team of six human resources professionals at the campuses of East Lansing and the Secchia Center in Grand Rapids. She works directly with faculty, academic and support staff, chairs, directors, and administrators on a broad range of human resources matters including employee relations, compensation and reclassification, performance management, recruitment and human resources policies and procedures. In addition, she serves as a liaison to various university offices across campus and throughout the state and is the key MAU leader for all human resources matters for the college.
Toya earned a bachelor’s degree from Baker College in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources Management. She earned a master’s degree in Human Resources Administration from Central Michigan University. She also obtained the Certified Human Resources Specialist (CHRS) from Michigan State University. In her free time, she enjoys traveling with her family, volunteering, and golfing.
