L.I.F.E. Curriculum
A program for Learning to Address Impairment and Fatigue to Enhance Patient Safety
LIFE Curriculum is a case-based educational program designed to help educate residents and faculty to prevent, identify, and manage resident fatigue and impairment.
This program educates residents and faculty about the effects of fatigue and other common impairments on performance. It is designed to identify strategies that may prevent fatigue and impairment; provide an early warning system for impairments, and offer ways to help manage them effectively.
Residents are encouraged to complete the modules on Disc 1. Disc 2 is also recommended.. Program Coordinators are able to assist residents in this process. A direct link to Disc 1 is: http://med.stanford.edu/gme/duke_life/

Appointment Application

CHM’s LCME accreditation and ACGME accreditation require that all residents complete the Residents as Teachers training program (9 online modules).
The College of Human Medicine’s (CHM’s) Residents as Teachers training program
This program consists of 9 online modules (one introductory module and eight content modules) that introduce new residents to their teaching responsibilities as MSU faculty, providing them with strategies to improve their teaching and enhance learning experiences for medical students. These modules are interactive and intended to be completed asynchronously over the course of the next 6-8 months. Each module, along with its corresponding assessment, will take about 30 minutes to complete. We recommend residents complete the introductory module and the first two content modules (Modules 1 & 2) within the first month of their residency and then complete one module per month after that. This allows time for application of and reflection on module content. Links to all modules can be found on CHM’s JustInTimeMedicine (JIT) website.
