    Dr. Terry Curry and Kristine Zayko. Professor Terry Curry, Associate Provost & Vice-President for Academic Human Resources and Kristine Zayko, Deputy General Counsel, presented on "Post Tenure and HP Reviews." Terry Curry's areas of expertise include: team building; leadership and motivation; human resources (personnel) management; employee performance planning, development, and appraisal; equal opportunity, affirmative action, and workforce diversity; and, dealing with problem employees, including discipline, grievances and grievance procedures. Kristine Zayko practices primarily in the area of faculty and academic staff employment matters. Kristine also provides advice on a wide range of legal and policy issues relating to athletics, conflict of interest, academic governance, institutional policy development, student affairs, privacy, disability, and civil rights laws.

    December 3, 2008 "Role Modeling and Mentoring"
    Frank T. Stritter, Ph.D., Professor Emeritus, School of Medicine, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Stritter described the differences among the individual educational relationships that exist between faculty and learners in medical schools: advisor, tutor, preceptor, role model and mentor. This session was a combined session for the Chair Collaboration and Leadership group, as well as other CHM faculty.

    September 18, 2008 "Mid-Career Faculty: What are their needs? What are your options?"
    Deborah DeZure, Assistant Provost for Faculty and Organizational Development at MSU, Roger Baldwin and their research team at MSU were recipients of the 2007 Robert Menges Award for Outstanding Research in Faculty Development for their “Study of Mid-Career Faculty: Implications for Practice” by the Professional and Organizational Development Network in Higher Education.
