About the Speaker
Farha Abbasi, MD, is a psychiatrist and a leader in mental health for minorities and newcomers. She is the director of the Muslim Mental Health Consortium at Michigan State University, chairs the Mental Health Task Force for the mayor of Lansing, and serves as a director for the American Psychiatric Association Foundation.
Dr. Abbasi has received numerous awards for her contributions to community service and mental health advocacy. She has also served on various boards and committees, including the American Psychiatric Association’s Council on Minority Mental Health and Health Disparities.
