Bio

Dr. Lissy joined the Department of Orthopedics and MSU Health Care’s Sports Medicine clinic in 2022. His most recent position before joining MSU was as chair of the Department of Orthopedics at United Health Services Hospitals Inc. (UHS) in Binghamton, New York. During his nine years with the health system, Dr. Lissy also served as medical director of sports medicine, orthopedic sports surgeon and as a member of the UHS Medical Group Board of Directors.

He obtained a Master of Science degree in physical therapy from Ithaca College and a medical degree from the Sackler School of Medicine New York Program in Tel Aviv, Israel. He did his orthopedic surgery residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and his fellowship in orthopedic sports medicine at the Detroit Medical Center. During his time at DMC, Dr. Lissy provided care to some of Michigan’s top professional athletes, including members of the Detroit Tigers, Pistons and Red Wings.
