The Michigan State University College of Human Medicine Teddy Bear Picnic is a free community event created to help children understand the importance of health and wellbeing and provide a fun, safe environment for them to interact with doctors, health care providers and first responders.
Children are encouraged to bring a favorite teddy bear or stuffed animal for a wellness check-up with physicians and students from MSU’s health colleges. Other activities may include booths with face painting, balloon animals, giveaways, arts and crafts, vaccinations and more.
The college has welcomed many families to the Teddy Bear Picnic in East Lansing for many years. We recently expanded to the Flint and Grand Rapids communities, and Detroit is coming soon!
