  • A study led by Claire Margerison, PhD, associate professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, found that the expansion of Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act was linked to a lower chance of low-income individuals reporting that they experienced depression before pregnancy.
  • The following radiologists have joined Advanced Radiology Services and have been appointed clinical assistant professors in the College of Human Medicine: Jorge Alchammas, MD, neuroradiology (Warren); Alex Martin, DO, body imaging (Warren); Jeff Knake, MD, musculoskeletal imaging (Lansing/Owosso); and Samer Kannab-Aida, MD, body imaging (Warren).
  • Through a grant funded by MSU Gran Fondo donations, Richard Neubig, MD, PhD, chair of the Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology, and a team of researchers will study two compounds that could improve treatment for melanoma.
