Flint Campus

The College of Human Medicine has educated medical students at Flint area hospitals since 1969. In 2014, the college announced a $9 million grant from the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation that would support an expansion of the medical school in downtown Flint, including:

  • Doubling the number of third- and fourth-year medical students at the three Flint-area hospitals to 100
  • Centering the college's Program in Public Health in downtown Flint, including a master's degree in public health
  • Launching a new public health research initiative, recruiting six leading public health researchers to study health disparities in three target areas, as defined by the Flint community
