Return to the Workplace

In preparation for the safe return to university workplaces, the College of Human Medicine has developed the following procedures and resources. According to university policy, any employee who can continue to work remotely should do so, unless otherwise instructed by your supervisor. However, as we begin to reactivate research and medical education, some faculty and staff may need to make special requests to enter the workplace.

Request to enter the workplace

The following procedure will be used for employees requesting to enter the workplace:

1. Send a request to your supervisor, describing your need to have access to the building. Please include all the necessary details: when, who, why this can't be accomplished remotely. Your request must be approved before planning your return.

2. Once approved, the employee must do the following before entering the building:

3. While the employee is on-site, they agree to follow university's Community Compact for safety requirements including:
  • Wear a mask
  • Maintain social distancing
  • Get in and get out of the building as quickly as possible.
  • Frequently wash hands
