Dean Search

Following Executive Vice President Beauchamp’s announcement that a search will be launched for the future dean of the College of Human Medicine, the Isaacson, Miller executive search firm has been retained to assist with this important work. Isaacson, Miller enjoys a national reputation for its success in recruitment of executive leaders and has previously assisted the College of Human Medicine and several other MSU colleges with successful leadership searches. The firm is especially noted for its broad experience in academic medicine, health care and higher education, allowing it to become expert in these increasingly complex sectors. Of particular importance to the selection of this firm is their longstanding commitment to bringing women and people of color to senior management and executive positions. Search Committee

The search committee was appointed in accordance with the Search Procedures that were jointly developed by the EVP and the College Advisory Council, and approved on January 18, 2021. The search procedures were designed to ensure broad representation on the search committee of the many college stakeholders.

Search Procedures and Work Progress

The search committee has completed semifinalist interviews for the position and, in collaboration with the Executive Vice President for Health Sciences, has identified the candidates who are being invited for on-campus interviews in November. The candidate list has been approved by the Office for Inclusion and Intercultural Initiatives. During the campus visits, candidates will meet with many stakeholders including faculty, staff, students, university leadership, hospital partner leadership and others.
