III. Policy

A. Student, Faculty and Staff Parking Registration

  1. All students, faculty and staff who wish to lease a parking spot in a CHM owned/leased parking facility must register through the appropriate MSU Cash Net store. Monthly parking fees will be set up through payroll deduction if available. If payroll deduction is not available, parking can be paid for through a monthly purchase on the Cash Net store.
  2. When student, faculty and staff vehicles are registered for parking in CHM owned/leased parking facilities in Grand Rapids, you will receive a parking registration window decal which must be permanently affixed to your windshield prior to parking in the parking facility. Each vehicle registered will be issued an individual parking registration window decal and it’s allowable to register more than one vehicle.
  3. Carpooling is when, up to four students, faculty and/or staff members, want to share one parking spot. Carpooling is available in the Spectrum Health Parking deck and the Trowbridge parking lot only. Students, faculty and/or staff in a carpool will have their parking registrations linked or one gate card will be issued so only one member of the carpool will be able to use their leased spot at a time. Any student, faculty or staff members who wish to register as a carpool should contact the CHM Parking Administrator at chm.grparking@msu.edu for assistance in setting up a carpool.
  4. All bicycles parked in a CHM owned/leased parking facility or on CHM property in Grand Rapids are required to be registered. The registration is free and can be completed through the MSU Cash Net store at https://commerce.cashnet.com/msu_3573

IV. Departmental Parking Leases

  1. Departmental parking leases are used when a CHM, or in some cases a CHM partner, wish to set up a parking lease for their employees. The cost of the lease is billed back to a departmental account or billed directly to the CHM partner. Departmental parking leases are set up as either long term or short term leases, for one or several employees and are created to accommodate specialized parking needs. Departments or CHM partners who need a departmental parking lease should contact the CHM Parking Administrator at chm.grparking@msu.edu for assistance in setting up these leases.

V. Termination of Leased Parking

  1. Any student, faculty, staff, department, or CHM partner who wish to terminate their parking agreement with CHM must express their intent in writing to the CHM Parking Administrator at chm.grparking@msu.edu. Parking terminations require a 30 day notice and the monthly parking fee cannot be prorated.

VI. Parking Assistance

  1. For help with any parking needs in Grand Rapids, assistance with parking registrations or general parking questions, the CHM Parking Administrator is available to help. The parking administrator can most easily be reached by email at chm.grparking@msu.edu.
